Having a ball....

I have been wanting to do this for some time.  I had a glass gazing ball in my yard and the wind blow it over and broke it.  My plan... replace it with a bowling ball.  Break those plates!!  I'm covering it in mosaic of course.

Little Gymnast

Very very proud of Summer today. Four events, three blue ribbons, one red.  One VERY happy little girl who seems to excel in all she does.  Well done Summer.

Rocking Chair

So I have this old Rocking Chair hanging around.  I bought it from a second hand store when my, now 14 year old, son was born.  It was wooden and looked cute in the nursery but was decidedly uncomfortable to sit on.  Nevertheless, we moved and dragged it with us, put it in the storage area when the kids were too old to have a rocking chair in their room.  Several years ago I decided to get rid of it, but my husband said no.  We should use it as out door seating for a while and when the weather finally destroys it we will throw it away.
So time passed and the chair did get old and yucky and again I suggested that it was time to let it go.  Once again my husband decided to revive it, this time searching out any paint he could find he painted the whole thing, turquoise and purple.  It looked like an Easter Egg but it definitely gave it a new life.  Oh how I dislike it now though.

Here it is in all it's glory :)

Then a plan began to hatch in my head.  This is what I have done so far.
Hopefully you can see the numbers 2869, these are our house numbers.  This Chair is now sitting on our front porch.
My next plan is to add mosaic flowers to the seat. Remember, it was already uncomfortable.
